One of the common questions across the industry relates to income. What does an Agent really earn on average? How do I compare to other Agents in my area, my state or even Nationally? From a recruitment perspective, how do you work out which Agents to focus on across the country? Using big data, Propic can answer these questions in real time.
An industry divided by the have and have not
Less than 10% of Agents in Australia sold more than 20 properties in the last 12 months, as shown above. There is a massive difference in average income as a result for Agents (and their team) that are in this category. As shown below out of ~45,000 active agents in the past 12 months over 33,000 sold less than 10 properties. As a result, Agents in this category often are earning far less than the average income (Census 2016) for their area.
Average income vary's substantially by location not just because of average property prices but also by the number of Agents competing for what is a relatively fixed number of listings.
